Background
The foundation was founded in December 2023 with only 10 beneficiaries. This was in memory of the late Mrs. Christine Acan Otira, who passed away on February 18, 2022.
The late Mrs. Otira was known for her love for vulnerable people, including the elderly, people with special needs, the mentally unstable and the poor. Mrs. Otira left surviving children and other dependants.
Starting the foundation
In memory of their mother, the children thought it wise to start up a foundation to carry on with the legacy of their mother. As such, in December 2023, 10 elderly women from Lokung village, in Lamwo district were identified as the pioneers of the initiative. To-date, we have registered 30 elderly women within the village, who we are working hard to provide the necessary support.
